Where Modern Design Meets Personality, Energy, and Edge

RCQ Design was brought on to design a penthouse that was anything but ordinary. The client — social, style-conscious, and effortlessly charismatic — envisioned a high-end bachelor pad that reflected his lifestyle: a space designed for entertaining, unwinding, and making a lasting impression.

The mission was clear: create a home that felt modern and elevated, yet warm and inviting — a balance of sophistication and edge. It quickly became a standout project, not just for its aesthetic, but for the level of creative freedom behind it.

The Goal

At its core, the goal was to design a space that felt both “hip” and high-end — a home tailored to a client who loves to entertain, host, and enjoy his surroundings.

Beyond the lifestyle component, it was equally important that the space didn’t feel cold or overly minimal. The design needed to bring in warmth, texture, and comfort — creating an environment that felt as good to live in as it did to show off.

The Scope

This wasn’t just a single-room project — it was a full-scale vision within a ground-up build. The client owned both the first-floor penthouse and the top penthouse, ultimately deciding to focus on transforming the top level into a fully customized living experience.

From the earliest stages of construction, RCQ Design was deeply involved — shaping the space from the ground up to ensure every detail aligned with the overall concept and the client’s lifestyle.

The Interior Design Aesthetic

The aesthetic was rooted in Organic Modern — a blend of clean lines, natural materials, and layered textures that soften the edges of contemporary design.

Warm woods, refined finishes, and curated furnishings brought balance to the space, preventing it from feeling stark or overly polished. The result is a penthouse that feels elevated yet livable — modern, but never cold. A space that transitions effortlessly from relaxed everyday living to high-energy entertaining.

Phases of Design

  • Concept Development
The project began with defining the overall look and feel — establishing a clear vision that would guide every decision moving forward.

    Ground-Up Execution
As part of a full build, RCQ Design took on a hands-on role, overseeing the project from start to finish. This included acting as general contractor, ensuring the design vision was executed seamlessly at every stage.

    Material & Detail Selection
Every material, finish, and fixture was carefully selected — from foundational elements to custom built-ins — creating a cohesive and intentional design language throughout.

    Furnishing & Styling
Once the structure was complete, furnishings and final details were layered in, bringing warmth, personality, and functionality to the space.

Favorite Part of the Job

Being involved in the entire process was the most rewarding aspect. From concept to completion, there was a rare level of continuity — allowing the vision to come to life exactly as intended.

With full creative control and oversight, the project flowed smoothly, making it as enjoyable as it was successful.

Least Favorite Part of the Job

Managing crews and maintaining a tight schedule presented its challenges — especially with the client living in the space during construction. Balancing timelines, logistics, and day-to-day disruptions required precision and constant coordination.

What Made This Job Unique

What truly set this project apart was the client himself. Open-minded and trusting, he gave the team the freedom to fully explore the design vision without hesitation.

That level of trust allowed for a space that feels authentic, bold, and tailored — not just a home, but an experience. A place designed not only to live in, but to enjoy, entertain, and show off.

The end result is exactly that — a penthouse that feels as dynamic as the lifestyle it was designed for, where every detail supports both comfort and celebration.
